Video mapping tour
The Video Mapping Festival returns to Senlis with a new route through the heart of the ‘royal city’. On the programme: a new creation on the south portal of Notre-Dame Cathedral; 3 works to be discovered as you wander through the parks and gardens of the medieval heart of the town: Parc du Château royal (façade of the Musée de la Vénerie), Jardin du Roy (Gallo-Roman rampart) and Jardin de l’Evêché (apses of the Cathedral); and a mapping on the façade of the former Saint-Pierre church.
_____________
Notre-Dame Cathedral (south portal) – monumental video mapping
► Bursts of existence
Bursts of existence is a mapping work combining a chiaroscuro visual approach with a rise to colourful visual fireworks that put the architecture in abyme by superimposing new environments and structures sculpting the facade to give it new depth.
Direction and animation: Patrick GRANDI, Juan Sebastian RODAS
Original music: Erick BEJARANO
Musée de la Vénerie (facade) – monumental video mapping
► Renaissance
In death intrinsically subsists life… or how a bumblebee breathes new life into extinct nature after a period of desolation.
Direction: Rémi SOYEZ
Animation: Maxime HIBON, Rémi SOYEZ
Original music: Géraldine KWIK
Jardin du Roy (Gallo-Roman rampart) – monumental video mapping
► LITHOFOLIA
To the tune of a medieval folia mixed with contemporary touches, the stones of the Jardin du Roy light up to the rhythm of the plants that grow and dance there. An ode to nature, its gardens and its walks.
Direction: Ludovic BURCZYKOWSKI, after Sophie AGNERAY
Jardin de l’Évêché (Cathedral apses) – interactive video mapping
► Super Bibot 3000-release
Get ready to battle it out in an arcade game that lets you control luminous beings in search of the surface. Bibot is played like a futuristic table football game set up in public spaces: impose your alternative reality in this team-based game (up to 9 players, games lasting around 1 min 30)! All bets are off!
In this special version, you’ll reveal scenes inspired by the Musée d’Art et d’Archéologie of the City, such as the flowery world of Séraphine de Senlis paintings accompanied by animated medieval statues and archaeological dig atmospheres.
Development: Ludovic BURCZYKOWSKI, with the support of POUILLART and Adrien TISON
Music: aLb (2A record)
Former Saint-Pierre church (facade) – monumental video mapping
► Memory
Saint-Pierre church hides a tragic story.
The deadliest air disaster in French civil aviation. On 3rd of March 1974, at 12:32 pm, the DC-10 of Turkish Airlines flight 981 took off from Orly (Val-de-Marne) bound for London-Heathrow, England. Eight minutes later, the aircraft disappeared from radar screens after a door at the rear of the plane suddenly opened.
Witness and then refuge, the church shelters this suffering.
