Video mapping tour

Every year, the Video Mapping Festival stops at the Historial of the Great War in Péronne for the European Heritage Days and will present this time a best-of programme of previous editions! (Re)discover the 3 creations presented in 2021, 2022 and 2023 on the facade of the castle, as well as a selection of mapping on works from the museum’s collections.

Castle’s façade:
Duration: approx. 3×8 min
 
► Péronne through ages (2021 creation)
This playful and epic video mapping is inspired by the illuminations and the zany style of Monty Python. It explores the different ages of Péronne Castle through the heroic figures of the city such as Radegonde, Louis VI le Gros or Marie Fouré.

► To be born elsewhere, or the extraordinary journey of Astoria and Minut (2022 creation)
Astoria, the last creature of her species, lives with her little companion Minut in a world saturated with electrical storms and toxic fumes. Together they decide to embark on a long journey that will take them on an extraordinary adventure.

► Luminescence (2023 creation)
In the submarine base of Péronne, a mission is launched by the 4 crew members of the submarine Le Nostromo. But the demining of the ocean depths will not go as planned…
A playful and poetic visual adventure for the whole family!

Objects video mapping inside the Historial:
Duration: approx. 2 to 4 min
 
► Allegory of tensions (2021 creation)
A translation of the rising tensions and international alliances of the pre-war period through a graphic and abstract experience playing with the volumes of the statue.
Based on La paix armée, Félix-Alexandre Desruelles.

► Missives (2022 creation)
A tribute to the letters that were once sent between families and soldiers at the front. Letters that are often full of love and comfort, but can be tinged with despair at the reality of war.
Based on La pensée aux absents, André Devambez.

► Choreographism (2022 creation)
In front of the work, the spectator puts himself in the shoes of the sculptor. This interactive mapping allows them to build and deconstruct the statue as they wish. A game of materials, lights and sounds, orchestrated by the choreography of the arm and the hand.
