The famous Lille Cathedral welcomes 3 creations on its facade: a work by Julian Hölscher, a German artist well known to the Festival; but also the first mapping by the graphic designer, cartoonist and all-rounder from Lille Jean-Jacques Tachdjian, made as a duo with mapping artist Sylvain Pouillart; and finally a creation signed by the Spanish studio V.P.M that combines mapping with kaleidoscopic colors based on AI and a laser show.
The video mapping by Sylvain Pouillart & Jean-Jacques Tachdjian and by V.P.M were created during a creation residency.
▶︎ CURTAINS
The architecture of the cathedral becomes a membrane behind which an unreachable world is concealed. It is not materially tangible for the religious community, but remains in a virtual sphere of the imagination. In this way, an analogy unfolds between the spiritual spaces of faith and the equally virtual spaces of the digital worlds in which we live. Both places of longing are full of symbols in which people search for insight, certainty and hope.

▶︎ L’IVRE D’IMAGES
Jean-Jacques Tachdjian, typonoclastic and imaginative artist, wants to reveal to us his polymorphous and fanciful creativity: that of the “Grand Miquet, creator of the funniest world in the universe”, no less!
He’s summoning him once again, and this time it’s to awaken the architecture of the Treille Cathedral, thanks to the dance of his whimsical images that will end up synthesised in the storm and intoxication of words.

ODA is a captivating video mapping experience that explores the cyclical nature of life through radiant and symbolic visuals. It celebrates the interconnectedness of existence and invites introspection of the eternal cosmic dance.
