This year, the Video Mapping Festival invites you to the Atrium of the Palais des Beaux-Arts for a performance combining immersive generative mapping and live piano music. Ruby-Maude Rioux’s installation captures pianist Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Volanti’s hands in real time to generate a surreal visual environment in which each note becomes form and movement.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”15px”][vc_separator color=”custom” align=”align_left” border_width=”2″ el_width=”20″ css=”” accent_color=”#00ABA2″][vc_column_text css=””]\u25ba But where?<\/strong>
\nBut where?<\/em> transforms the pianist\u2019s movements into living, luminous architecture. Projected onto three walls of the Atrium at the Palais des Beaux-Arts, the installation captures Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Volanti\u2019s hands at the half-grand piano in real time, generating a constantly shifting, surreal visual environment. Through motion tracking and generative systems developed with TouchDesigner, Ruby-Maude Rioux explores the porous boundary between human intention and the autonomy of digital matter, creating a synaesthesia where each note becomes form, colour and spatial movement.<\/p>\n
