▶︎ oscillation. the sound of architecture.
This project explores how architecture can be experienced as music, guided by the principle “sound follows form”. The Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille is transformed into sound, with its Belle Époque rhythm and structure expressed through an arpeggio pattern echoing the era’s ornamental detail. Columns translate into string ostinatos, arches shape melodies, and the foundation resonates with deep tones. In the same way that past visions of progress fused tradition and innovation, this approach reimagines architecture as a dynamic, multi-sensory experience.

Vali Chincișan (Romania)

▶︎ JAZZ
“The concept for JAZZ comes from my obsession with the junction of improvisation and structure in creative output. Matisse’s Jazz series has always captivated me especially for its simplicity and boldness, where vibrant colors and abstract forms combine in a way that feels both planned and easy. Jazz music’s improvisational quality reflects this harmony, and I find it to be a metaphor for the creative process itself: a dance between form and free expression.”

JUY SPECIAL MENTION

Concurrent n°7
Anna Meldrāja – Pirate Pixie (Latvia)

▶︎ The Tale of Balance
The Tale of Balance is a fairy tale that aims to link two key issues: environmental destruction and low mental health/wellbeing. Both stem from our lost connection to nature. Everything in the nature is biologically connected, so why do we think we are not? We must remember we are part of the natural world, not its owners, and work to restore the balance not just in nature, but ourselves too. The tale will be used to create a sound design with lyrics, which will go together with the video mapping.
