Monument video mapping
After a first edition in 2024, the Video Mapping Festival returns to Hondschoote with an abstract architectural creation on the facade of the Saint-Vaast Church.
► Great Organs
Great Organs explores various variations on the theme of a cosmic organ that has taken its place on the Hondschoote Church. By turns melodious, dancing, electronic and organic, this luminous abstract journey subtly alludes to the figure of Athanasius Kircher, a priest and scholar nicknamed the “phoenix of scholars” in his day. Regarded as one of the fathers of the magic lantern – of which video mapping is the heir – he was also the architect of “cosmic harmony”, in which the world is described to an organ whose organist is God in the Musurgia universalis, or the “universal work of the Muses”.
