► Dreams of Čiurlionis

Video artists Vytautas Žarnauskas, Matas Nakrošis (Lithuania), along with Hamza Mrabet and composer Aleksi Aubry-Carlson (France) will present a joint project, entitled Dreams of Čiurlionis. Video mapping performance will be dedicated to M. K. Čiurlionis – Lithuanian composer and painter of international significance, in anticipation of the 150th anniversary of the artist’s birth.
Inspired by M. K. Čiurlionis symbolist musical conceptualism and unique phenomenon of his art, joint artists team will revive the Maison du Sagittaire building in Amiens. Using animation and video mapping techniques they will bring to life M. K. Čiurlionis paintings and his music, thereby transporting the audience into a unique and magical world.
Artists for this performance are working with digital copies of paintings that have been entrusted to them by the M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art.

Video mapping produced during a writing and creation residency bringing together Lithuanian artists and artists from Hauts-de-France, organised by Rencontres Audiovisuelles as part of the Lithuanian Season in France 2024, in partnership with the Vilnius Light Festival.

► Twilight Bunnies
The series of four projection mapping installations features futuristic humanoid bunnies that appear in town after dark. Playfully wandering through the streets, they leap between buildings and explore hidden corners, occasionally causing harmless mischief. By introducing these whimsical characters into familiar spaces, the installations encourage viewers to see their everyday surroundings in a new light, adding a fresh sense of discovery to the night. The bunnies’ playful antics offer an unexpected and lighthearted experience, inviting people to look at their town with renewed curiosity and imagination.

► Rise Up
Bubbles rising from rocks under the water. They slowly turn into worms and beetles, moving and climbing, falling and rising. From the darkness they shine and emerge, swarming. This busy crowd turns into a blossoming firework of nature, which finally takes wing and breaks free. We invite our audience to be part of a colorful and uplifting experience inspired by nature.

Animation and concept: Nikolett FÁBIÁN and Éva DARABOS (Hungary)
Music: József ISZLAI

► Vis-à-vis
When an artist is doing a site specific artwork, the process inevitably becomes a ‘face to face’ situation, where the artist is facing his ‘canvas’ – in this case a building -, and/but the ‘canvas’ as well ‘is facing’ what an artist can/will do with it. In this regard, the creation process is a ‘dialogue’ and the projection, in where the artist explores the shapes of the building through a visual language reminding op art, becomes the result (conclusion) of such a conversation.
The title is also a call to the audience, to look, to take a look at what is happening ‘on the other side’ of the square.

Direction: László Zsolt BORDOS (Hungary)
Music and sound design: Ondrej SKÁLA

► Fragments
Fragments is a piece that presents architecture as gateways to parallel realities. Through laser cuts, seemingly stable structures fracture, revealing hidden universes with their own physical laws and styles. Each exposed fragment deforms and rearranges the space, illustrating how reality is a series of interconnected dimensions in constant transformation.

As part of the Amiens-Dortmund twinning.

► Between Chaos and Calm
Between Chaos and Calm explores the intricate tension between balance and disorder through shifting forms and striking asymmetry. It highlights how fleeting moments of harmony can unravel, inviting viewers to find beauty in unpredictability. Vibrant colours and dynamic movements pulse through the piece, echoing the delicate dance between order and chaos, where opposing forces collide and intertwine, challenging perceptions of stability.

Direction: Svitlana REINISH (Ukraine)
Original music: Anton DEHTIAROV

Parc de l’Évêché : sculpture – object mapping

► Amalgam
Amalgam is a poetic fusion of history and presence, where projection mapping transforms a living statue into a canvas for light. Ancient sculptures and human anatomy merge seamlessly, creating an ethereal dance of form and illumination. As the projections flow across the contours, they hint at a mystical dialogue between past and present, inviting viewers to explore the subtle connections between classical art and the living human form.
